What I thought wellbeing was

I’ve always loved the idea of wellbeing and what we can do to take better care of ourselves. In my 20s, I thought that if I did all the right things - ate well, exercised, did yoga, read the books and became sufficiently self-aware - I would eventually find eternal peace and happiness. Life would become easy. Everything would finally come together.

Haha. Well, we know that isn’t the truth. Ask any spiritual teacher or yogi and you’ll probably discover that the answer is never really found once and for all. And perhaps that is the answer. Life moves in seasons. Rough patches will come again, but hopefully we become a little better at moving through them.

One night you might tuck into the pizza and spend the evening on the couch. The next day, you might want to move your body. Not because the pizza created a debt - just because life has started moving again. One day you might feel lonely and overwhelmed. The next, after a swim, a walk and some sun, things can look different again. Neither day is the whole story. The yin and yang of life is what makes it all worth it. Without the lows, we wouldn’t feel the intensity of the highs -and boy, do I love the highs. So I’ve had to get better at the lows. And I am, I think.

Why I’m here

I work full time in management, so LivWell didn’t begin because I needed another job or thought wellbeing would be a clever way to make money. It began because I missed creating, connecting and sharing the things that matter to me. Anyone who has been to one of my workshops knows I tend to go slightly overboard. I want people to feel something, connect with each other and leave with something genuinely useful. I’ve rarely made money from those workshops. I should probably get a little better at that. Good work is allowed to support itself too. So I’m here for me, and I’m here for you. For me, LivWell is a place to create, connect and share my why. For you, I hope it becomes a place to do the same - to reconnect with yourself, share honestly and take away something that makes your life feel a little more like yours.

Why Becoming Her?

The ideas behind Becoming Her draw on years of study and work, but they really came together during a very quiet and reflective 18 months. I had to learn how to feel like myself again - not through one dramatic transformation, but through small practices that gradually helped me return. I wanted to share what helped while creating the thing I needed myself: genuine support, honest conversation and space to understand why our habits become difficult - not just another list of what we should be doing. Becoming Her isn’t about finally mastering life or becoming someone who feels good all the time. She doesn’t exist. It’s about understanding your own seasons, finding your way back a little sooner and knowing what helps when life inevitably becomes life again.

Why LivWell FNQ?

LivWell is where I bring together what I’ve studied with what I’ve actually lived: food, movement, behaviour, learning and the strange business of being a human. I don’t believe that one routine, food, practice or qualification gives us the answer. I do believe we can learn to care for ourselves better, make the rough patches a little less rough and properly notice the good parts while they’re here. LivWell isn’t about creating a perfect life. It’s about having more ways to support yourself through every version of it.

Created in Far North Queensland, originally as a Nutrition and Massage business. It's now been diverted a little but always the same message - for real life wherever it happens.

MEET LIV

My journey back to myself

I’m a pretty normal person who goes through the same seasons as everyone else. I also really like studying things - especially why we feel the way we do and what might help - so I’ve learnt a few things along the way. I’d like to think some of them have helped.

What matters here

Life moves in seasons.
Feeling good all the time was never a realistic goal.
Small things still count.
Something manageable will always be more useful than an impressive plan that lasts four days.
Care isn’t punishment.
Food and movement should support your life - not become another way to judge yourself.
Curiosity gets us further.
Understanding why something is difficult is usually more useful than deciding we’ve failed.
Connection matters.
Hard seasons feel lighter when we don’t have to pretend we’re the only ones having them.

Trust me, we're all in this thing called life together.

Where LivWell is heading

My vision is for LivWell to grow into practical programs, small workshops, meaningful retreats, genuinely useful resources and a community people want to remain part of.

A place for thoughtful wellbeing, good conversations and learning how to move through life’s seasons with a little more ease - and a sense of humour when ease isn’t available.
